Abstract | This article presents a comprehensive and insightful analysis of fifth-generation (5G) wireless technology. It reviews key features such as scalability, flexibility, and enhanced accessibility, and provides a complete overview of the evolution from earlier generations of mobile wireless technology. The study highlights both the advantages and limitations of each generation, establishing the groundwork that led to the development of 4G and 5G technologies. While 5G is not yet fully commercialized worldwide, it represents the next significant leap in wireless communication. The development of the Wireless World Wide Web (WWWW) and Dynamic Ad hoc Wireless Network (DAWN) has further advanced the foundation of 5G research. Currently, several countries including the US, China, Japan, South Korea, Sweden, and Turkey are pioneering the deployment of 5G, which is primarily based on Voice over IP (VoIP) protocols. The technology continues to evolve under the guidance of researchers and industry experts, promising transformative impacts in the near future. |
